MAWOCP provides support and leadership to its members by promoting education, clinical and research opportunities to advance the practice and guide the delivery of expert healthcare to individuals with wounds, ostomies and continence. One of the main goals is to advance the healthcare and quality of life of individuals with wounds, ostomies and continence. MAWOCP provides a forum for the exchange of knowledge pertaining to the wound, ostomy and continence nursing and professional specialties and to stimulate research, investigate and teaching in these fields. MAWOCP also works to establish scholarships and provide service and funding to like-minded organizations.
